Dr Shakira Ahamed qualified in India and successfully completed the Overseas Registration Examination (ORE) in 2012, allowing her to register with the General Dental Council. She also holds a Master's degree in Leadership in Healthcare from Kingston University, awarded in 2014. With more than 25 years of experience, Shakira provides a wide range of dental treatments and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. Having worked as a mydentist clinician for almost 10 years, Shakira has experience across general and private dentistry, as well as domiciliary dental services. She particularly enjoys supporting children and adults with dental anxiety and phobia, helping patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their treatment. She strongly believes that education, early awareness and a friendly approach can help patients build positive relationships with dental care and maintain good long-term oral health. Shakira has a keen interest in teeth straightening with clear aligners and in providing removable complete and partial dentures. She has also recently completed additional training in composite bonding. Outside of dentistry, Shakira enjoys reading and writing blogs about life experiences. She is also a busy mum of three and enjoys spending quality time with her family, including taking short breaks together whenever possible.
